Method
 

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic and sauté until soft and fragrant.
  2. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground meat to the skillet. Cook until it’s browned and crumbly, breaking it up with a spatula as it cooks.
  3. Drain any excess fat and return the skillet to the heat. Stir in the taco seasoning and water. Let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes or until most of the liquid has evaporated, stirring occasionally.
  4. While the meat is cooking, prepare the lettuce leaves by rinsing and drying them. Arrange the leaves on a platter.
  5. Once the meat is cooked, taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper.
  6. Spoon the meat mixture into the centre of each lettuce leaf to assemble the wraps. Top with cherry tomatoes, avocado, shredded cheese, and cilantro.
  7. Serve immediately with lime wedges and optional toppings like sour cream and salsa.
